John Bell

John Frank Bell, 62, a resident of Davenport, died Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at his home.

A private gathering will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

John was born January 3, 1958 in Davenport, the son of John Albert, Jr. and Irene Louise (Peters) Bell. John worked as an auto mechanic and owned Bell’s Auto Service in Rock Island. He enjoyed stock car racing, loved fishing, and had a passion for music, playing the guitar and drums. John and his brothers raced cars together as Bell Brothers Racing.

Those left to honor his memory include his daughter, Leah Bell; siblings, Vicky Speth of Davenport, Jeff (Diane) Bell of Davenport, Connie (Todd) Muilenburg of Bettendorf, David Bell of Davenport, Scott (Lori) Bell of Davenport, and Gary (Lyn) Bell of Eldridge; his best friend, Tom Garden of Davenport; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
