Joan Zanella

Joan M. Zanella, 78, of Davenport, died May 11, 2025, in Davenport. Per her wishes, cremation rites have taken place and there are no scheduled services at this time.

Joan Marie Zanella was born March 17, 1947, in Saxon, Wisconsin, the daughter of Hilding and Ruth (Erickson) Norman. She was united in marriage to John Zanella on March 2, 1968. Joan worked several jobs during her travels with her Navy husband.

She was an outstanding seamstress, often altering and making clothing for her children and grandchildren. Joan enjoyed reading, doing ceramics, watching gameshows and spending time at the casino. Above all, she loved being a grandmother. Spending time with her grandchildren and family meant the world to her and she meant the world to them.

Those left to honor her memory are her husband of 58 years, John, children; John Zanella, Amy (Danny Rhodes) Zanella, and Brent (Renae) Zanella, grandchildren; Amanda, Megan, Nicholas, and Natalie, great-grandchildren; Ali, Ellie, and Jack, siblings; John (Nancy) Norman, Bruce (Roxanne) Norman, and Mary Norman; and too many nieces and nephews to count.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Ryan, and several brothers and sisters.
