Joan M. Stephenson, 77, of Walcott, formerly of Davenport, passed away, Sunday, September 20, 2026 at Better Living, Walcott.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am, on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Private family burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to Kings Harvest Animal Shelter or QC Paws, Moline.

Joan was born on May 30, 1949 in Red Oak, Iowa, a daughter of Ivan and Rose (Scofield) Hardisty. She married Jim Stephenson and they later divorced.

Joan was very crafty and enjoyed her cross stitch, needlepoint and sewing. She was very fond of her daily walks and her SUDUKO puzzles. She also found joy in reading and gardening. Above all she loved her family, and her cat Caleb, and cherished the time she spent with them. She will be deeply missed.

Those left to honor her memory includer her children Brianna (Chris) Kelley, Mitchell (Cecilia) Stephenson, Jim Jr., and Mary; and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Oscar Homer and her former husband Jim.
