Jerry Burmeister

Jerald W. “Jerry” Burmeister, 37, of Davenport, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Genesis Medical Center East Campus, Davenport.  A celebration of his life will be held at Noon on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.  Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial fund to be established for his daughter Serenity.

Jerry was born July 21, 1985 in Iowa City, a son of David and Carol (Anthony) Burmeister.

He liked to work with his hands whether it was fixing cars and motorcycles or baking cakes.  He had a big heart and was the type of guy to give you the shirt off his back.  If a friend was in need, he was always ready to help.

Those left to honor his memory include his daughter Serenity; mother Carol (Greg) Lillyblade of Davenport; father David Burmeister of Davenport; brothers Matt (Robyn) Burmeister of Cedar Rapids and Nathan (Ashley) Burmeister of Davenport; wife Chrissy Davis of Davenport; and stepdaughter Laiylah.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Ted and Barb Hendricksen and paternal grandmother Bernice Burmeister.
