Davenport

Jerry Wayne Baldwin, age 69, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on January 5, 2026, at his home.

Jerry was born to Delno and Lola Baldwin on January 24th, 1956. He grew up in Davenport’s West End and attended Davenport West High School. Jerry has four siblings, Carol (Ed) Straw, Cheryl (Olin) Meador, Teresa (John) Bald, and Kevin Baldwin.

Jerry was a hardworking and devoted family man. He spent many years on the road as a truck driver for Umthum Trucking and TMC, before retiring after 30 years of service with Linwood Mining and Mineral. His strong work ethic and reliability were hallmarks of both his career and his character.

Outside of work, Jerry truly lived life to the fullest. He loved riding his Harley, camping, cruising in his Mustang, and spending time with family and friends. He loved cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and Ole Miss Rebel football teams.

Above all else, Jerry adored his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Melisa Baldwin; his children, Bill (Katherine) Baldwin, Lydia (Michael) Aderholt, and Mark (Michelle) Baldwin. He was a proud and involved grandfather to Carter, Wyatt, Carson, Camden, Theo, Marlee, Oaklee, Zariyah, and Zayomi, each of whom brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his life-long friend, Tim Burke.

Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Lola Baldwin; his mother-in-law, Marlene Lee; and his son-in-law, Michael Aderholt.

Private services have been arranged through Halligan, McCabe, DeVries Funeral Home, with a celebration of life to be held later this summer, when family and friends will gather to honor Jerry’s memory, share stories, and celebrate a life well lived.
