Obituary

Jerome Thomas Halligan, 58, formerly of Davenport, Iowa died peacefully May 26, 2026, in St. Paul, MN.

Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Jerome will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2026, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Bettendorf. The Mass will be livestreamed by clicking the following link: St. John Vianney YouTube Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Project Renewal, Davenport, Iowa.

Jerome Thomas Halligan was born on January 9, 1968, in Elmhurst, Illinois. Son of Kevin Richard and Catherine Genevieve (Sullivan) Halligan. He graduated from Davenport Assumption High School in 1986 and Fordham University, Bronx, NY in 1990.

Jerome was a talented artist. He loved to paint. He may have spilled some paint. His works included various murals at local restaurants and shops, back drops for movies such as “Grumpier Old Men” and caricatures for family and friends.

Jerome had a generous soul and a contagious love for his family and friends. Jerome lived his life following the golden rule. He was always there for others in need. He was the definition of a giver.

Those left to honor his memory are his son, Shane Winslow; mother, Catherine Halligan; siblings: Kevin (Meg) Halligan, Genevieve (Dr. Roger) Burke, Mark Halligan, John (Christine) Halligan, Peter Halligan, Katy (Charlie) Mullin, Mary Keddy, and Liz (Nick) Fernandez and all of his loving nieces and nephews whom he adored.

Jerome was preceded in death by his father Kevin Halligan, his sister Meg, and his brother-in-law, Kieran Keddy.
