Jeffrey A. Reyes

Jeffrey Allen Reyes, 62, of Davenport, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at MercyOne Genesis East, Davenport. A celebration of his life will be held at 1pm on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. The family will receive friends from noon until time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.

Jeff was born October 5, 1962, in Davenport to Nick and Klareen (Sherwin) Reyes. He was a graduate of Davenport West High School.

In his earlier years, Jeff worked as an electrician and was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). Most recently, he served as a sexton at Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport.

Jeff was a lifelong and long-suffering fan of the Chicago Bears. Though the Bears may not have always brought home a win, they always had his unwavering loyalty. He was also a fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Iowa Hawkeyes. He also found joy in the excitement of the WWE, never missing a chance to watch his favorite wrestlers in action.

A lover of music, Jeff had a deep appreciation for classic rock and enjoyed going to concerts, soaking in the energy and the songs that became the soundtrack to his life. His children fondly remember Friday nights spent together at Blockbuster Video, carefully choosing the perfect movies for the weekend, a family ritual filled with laughter and debate over what to watch.

Survivors include his children Juli (Randy) Miller, of Wilton, IA, Tiffany (Tim) Lievens of Davenport, Dustin (Anna) Reyes of Davenport, Brittany Murphy of Eldridge, and Eric Smith of Davenport; several grandchildren; brother Randy Reyes; step brothers and sisters; and a niece and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents and best friend Larry.
