Jeffery Murrow

Jeffery Charles Murrow, 46, of Davenport, died Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at his home.

A prayer service will be held at 6p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport.  Cremation rites have taken place.  Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Jeff was born on February 14, 1977 in Honolulu, Hawaii, a son of Charles N. and Susan B. (Rossmiller) Murrow.  He was proud to have spent eight years of his childhood in Germany while his father was stationed there.

While in high school, Jeff had worked at McDonalds and later in life worked as a night producer for local radio stations, and enjoyed working the Mississippi Valley Fair as well as for Uncle Norm’s Fireworks.

Jeff married Mary Lea Marvets on August 17, 2004 in Webster City, Iowa.

Jeff enjoyed making swords and knives and was hoping to make it into a business one day as he was working towards an online business degree.  He also enjoyed playing Dungeons and Dragons and collecting Pokémon, Digimon, and Yugioh. More recently, he found a passion playing softball with the Davenport Challenger League alongside his son, Zach.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Murrow; son, Zachary Murrow; parents, Charles and Susan Murrow; siblings: Andrew Murrow, Christopher (Megan) Murrow, and Katie (Michael) McCormick; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
