Jane F. Cronkleton, 104, of Davenport, died Saturday, December 6, 2025, surrounded by many of her nieces and nephews at MercyOne-Genesis Medical Center, Davenport.

Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Jane will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 12, 2025, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Long Grove with burial in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Long Grove. Visitation will be held Thursday at St. Ann’s from 4 until 6 p.m. with the rosary prayed at 6 p.m. Additional visitation will take place on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Shriners Children’s Hospital, or St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jane was born on July 31, 1921, in Donahue, Iowa, a daughter of Harry L. and Ursula A. (Halligan) Cronkleton. She graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in 1939 and was a member of the ICA-lets, a circle of friends that continued to meet monthly for 70 years. She then went on to graduate from Marycrest College. Jane served our country as a WAVE in the U.S. Navy during World War II. She was the first woman from Donahue and the surrounding area to enlist in the Women’s Forces. In 2015 she was honored as the 3000th veteran to go on the Honor Flight.

Jane was the manager of the University of Michigan Student Health Lab for over 20 years, retiring in 1985. Following retirement, she moved back to the Quad Cities to care for her mother and also went to work for the Mississippi Valley Blood Center for five years. Jane was a member of the American Society of Medical Technicians and ZONTA, an international service organization with the mission of Building a Better World for Women and Girls.

Jane remained mentally sharp throughout her earthly journey. She embraced technology, owning an iPhone and was comfortable using text and was active on Facebook which allowed her to stay engaged with her large family. Her attention to detail was unmatched. Jane loved to travel and was well read. She was an avid college sports fan, especially Michigan Football of which she was season ticket holder for many years and hosted many famous tailgates.

Those left to honor her memory are many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, James (Lorraine), Howard (Mary Theresa), Joseph (Mary Louise), Dr. Thomas (Wilma), and Lawrence (Mary Frances) Cronkleton; a sister, Mary Ann (Gerry) Paulsen; nephews: Joey, John, and Phillip Cronkleton, David Paulsen, and a niece, Cathy Vanderlin. May they rest in peace.
