Cody Burdette

August 2, 1999 — April 2, 2022

 

With deepest sorrow, we announce that James Cody Burdette (Cody Bear), age 22, our Son, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin, Grandson, Great Grandson and Best Friend passed away on Saturday April 2, 2022 at his home.  

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family.

Cody was warmhearted, responsible, ambitious, sentimental, clever, caring, as well as a self-proclaimed Mommy’s Boy.  He had a great sense of humor; a brilliant energy and his smile would light up the room.

Cody was born August 2nd, 1999 in Glendale, Arizona the son of Suni Knowles and James Keith Burdette.  Cody grew up in Peoria, Arizona where he worked as a new car salesman for Peoria Ford (he loved sales) and he enjoyed fishing, hiking, fashion, cooking, skateboarding, football and playing the stock market.  Cody moved to Davenport Iowa on January 5th, 2022 with his family and lived with his sister, Haley. Cody had just entered a new trade and was in the process of purchasing his first home.  

Cody will be missed everyday by his mother, Suni Knowles of Davenport, Iowa; father, Keith Burdette of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Haley Burdette of Davenport; niece, Mila Burdette of Davenport; grandparents, Allen Knowles of Davenport and Judy Burdette of Phoenix; great-grandmother, Lela Marguerite Knowles of Momence, Illinois; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his dog Barley.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Pamela Knowles and paternal grandfather, Richard Burdette.
