Jackie Tucker, 76, of Davenport and formerly of Bettendorf, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at MercyOne Genesis East in Davenport.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at The Word Church, 356 16th Avenue, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be held from 11a.m. until the time of service. Per his request, cremation has taken place.
Jackie was born on January 8, 1950, in Webbs, Mississippi, to Buddy Tucker and Lizzie Mae (Houston) Tucker.
He earned his bachelor’s degrees in History and Economics from St. Ambrose University in Davenport. Jackie was united in marriage to Bessie Burge-Tucker. He dedicated 26 years to ALCOA, where he held a leadership role and served as the company’s diversity advisor at the time of his retirement. He later continued his career as a supervisor with Straight Shot Express.
Jackie deeply cherished family vacations and especially treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing, watching sports, playing basketball in local leagues, and occasional trips to the casino. He was a devoted fan of the Chicago Bulls and the Dallas Cowboys.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Bessie; his children, Tonya (Timothy) Tucker-Ray of Maywood, IL, William Tucker-Lewis of Maywood, IL, Maurice Jones of Rock Island, IL, Jacqueline Burge of Davenport, IA, Tamika Tucker of Miami, FL, and Shannon Burge of Dallas, TX; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Valencia Tucker, Maurice Tucker, Calvine Tucker, Gustave Tucker, FitzPatrick Tucker, and Norbert Tucker.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lizzie Mae Tucker-Warmley, and his brother, Durward Tucker.
Memorials may be made to the Fraternal Order of Police.
