Ida later moved to Davenport to raise her family.  Ida worked at Mercy Hospital from 1965-1996 and was one of the first doing in home care. She also enjoyed rocking the babies while at the hospital.  After her retirement she volunteered at the blood bank and was a proud 10 gallon donor.  Ida was very loving, sweet, caring but also not afraid to speak her mind.  Her hands were never idle.  She was always busy crocheting, crafting, praying or spreading the word of God.  She was a former pastor at The Church of God of Prophecy.  For many years she would cook the meals for Sunday dinner at church. Ida was also a member at Maranatha Church of God, Davenport.  She loved doing mission work and had been to Venezuela and Nicaragua.  She also visited the Holy Land and traveled thru the Panama Canal three times as well as visited many islands.  Ida also traveled extensively in the US and loved to stop along said of the road for flowers.  She was fond of growing flowers, herbs and had a natural remedy for everything.  She also enjoyed the Dollar Tree, listening to scripture daily and watching Walker Texas Ranger, Touched By An Angel, The Waltons and Little House on The Prairie.  Above all her family meant everything to her and she would drive home yearly to visit her family.
