Hoang P. Uy, 78, of Davenport, died Friday, July 31, 2026, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Davenport surrounded by his family.

Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Uy will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday, August 3, 2026, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Davenport. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport with additional visitation held at the Cathedral on Monday from 1 until 2 p.m. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Cathedral for Masses.

Hoang Phi Uy was born on January 2, 1948, in Vietnam, a son of Quyen Uy and Trung Thi Nguyen. He was united in marriage to Xuyen Dinh in July of 1970. Mr. Uy was a businessman in Vietnam before moving to the United State in April of 1992.

Mr. Uy enjoyed hanging out with his family, he was a wonderful husband and father and enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren. He would do anything for anybody.

Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Xuyen Dinh, Davenport; children: Hau Uy (Linh Lam), Hoang Uy (Thanh Phan), Tu Uy (Hung Ly), Cong Uy (Tami Tran), Khanh Uy (Mai Phan), Thien Uy (Thuy Phan), Khai Uy (Ngan Ngo); grandchildren: Van Lam, Nga Lam, Michelle Lam, Anthony Phan, Peter Phan, Matthew Ly, Theresa Ly, Joseph Ly, Veronica Uy, Gabbie Uy, Maddie Uy, Vanessa Uy, Maria Uy, John Uy, Estella Ngo-Uy.
