Harry Carroll DeBourcy was born January 4, 1945, in Moline, to Dr. Harry and Eileen (McCarthy) DeBourcy Sr. He was united in marriage to Lila Phelps, and she preceded him in death.

Harry earned his Doctor of Education and dedicated much of his professional life to education with the Eastern Iowa Community College District. He truly loved his work and the people he met along the way.

Outside of work, Harry was a man of many interests. He was mechanically inclined and could fix almost anything. He enjoyed antique cars and the history and craftsmanship that came with them, boating on the river, and traveling.

He will be remembered as a man who was grounded in his faith, loved what he did, enjoyed learning about the world around him, and never met a stranger he couldn't find something to talk about.

Survivors include his sons Sean (Shane) DeBourcy of Princeton, IA, and Ski DeBourcy of Davenport; grandchildren Riley, Finian, Megan, and Allison DeBourcy; sister Mary (Bill) Phares of East Moline; brother Tom (Mary) DeBourcy of Bernalillo, NM; and significant other Deb Goodall of Davenport.

Additionally, he was preceded in death by his parents.
