Geraldine Krumbholz

Geraldine H. “Gerri” Krumbholz, 90, of Bettendorf, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.  Per her wish the rite of cremation will be accorded and inurnment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport.  Memorials may be made to Clarissa Cook Hospice, Scott County Iowa Humane Society, or the Davenport Police Association.

Geraldine Holst was born September 10, 1931, in Geneseo, IL, the daughter of Kenneth and Sarah (nee Nowers) Holst.  She was united in marriage to F. James “Jim” Krumbholz on April 8, 1950 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Davenport.

Prior to her retirement in 1988, Gerri had been a truant officer for the Bettendorf School District for seventeen years.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and knitting, oil painting, cooking (and eating), traveling, camping, and was a sharp Bridge player.  Along with her husband Jim, they taught ballroom dancing and Polka.  Gerri was the former treasurer of the ALCOA Retirees Club and was a member on the Mayoral appointed Board of Adjustment for the City of Bettendorf for over 16 years.

Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Jim; daughters Jeryl Krumbholz of Bettendorf, Susan (Garry) Gruenhagen of Davenport; grandchildren Katie Gruenhagen of Eldridge, Eric (Maureen) Gruenhagen of Eldridge, Andrew (Tammie) Gruenhagen of Davenport; and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Martha Fiebich.
