Gerald “Jerry” Peters, Sr, 83, of Davenport, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2026, at home surrounded by his family. Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of his life will be held from 12-4pm on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Keppy Hall at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds.

Gerald Louis Peters was born April 2, 1942, in Davenport, to Herbert Delmar and Katherine Annetta (Harter) Peters. He was united in marriage to Barbara Lee DeVore on September 2, 1961, in Davenport. She preceded him in death on January 23, 2024.

Prior to his retirement, he had been a supervisor for Murray’s Warehouse for many years. He then went to work as a salesman for Valley Bolt before retiring for good.

Jerry had a great sense of humor and enjoyed watching westerns, cowboy movies, and the Three Stooges.

Those left to honor his memory include his children and their spouses Gerald (Navis) Peters Jr, Teresa (Jack) Hayes all of Davenport, Thomas (Linda) Peters of Eldridge, Keli (Dan) Gillum of Davenport, Douglas (Jennifer) Peters of Eldridge, Anthony (Ami) Peters of Davenport; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; siblings Stanley Peters, Dolly (Melvin) Grubbs, Mary (Mike) Gillespie, Ray Peters, and Katherine Jacobs.

Additionally, he was preceded in death by sons Timmy and Tom, sisters Phyllis Willers and Irene Bell, and brothers Wayne “Bill”, Herbert Jr, Donald, Robert Sr, Kenneth “Butch”, and Harley “Jim” Peters. May they rest in peace.
