Gary Petersen

Gary Connole Petersen, 80, of Davenport, passed away, Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at his home. There are no services scheduled.

Gary was born on March 24, 1945, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Melvin and Mary Petersen of Dewitt, Iowa. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Crystal Troup, on Valentine's Day of 1981. She preceded him in death, May 18, 2014.

He enjoyed playing video poker and video slot machines. Gary especially loved watching NASCAR and cheering on his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt Sr. He was a quiet man who enjoyed his time at home.

Those left to honor his memory are his stepson, Ronald (Tracy) Underwood; stepdaughter, Ginny Underwood; and children, Casey (Steve) Bumbalough, Michael Petersen, and Kristi Martin.

Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Crystal, parents, and sister, Sandy.
