Gary Jon "Bucky" Peeples

Gary “Bucky” Peeples, 69, of Davenport, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Harmony in Davenport. Per his request cremation has been accorded. Keeping with his wishes, his remains will be tenderly divided between two cherished resting places, one to remain close with his beloved son Nick in Riverside Cemetery, Montgomery, IL, and the other with his siblings in Mt. Gary Jon Peeples was born November 11, 1956, in Davenport, to Avora J. and Lorene E. (Taggart) Peeples. He graduated from Davenport Central High School class of 1976.

Prior to his retirement he owned and operated a painting business in Aurora, IL, and later worked for his brother at Peeples Heating and Air Conditioning in Davenport.

Bucky was a truly gregarious man with an infectious smile and great big heart. He was the kind of person who never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation anywhere with anyone. A natural people person, he thrived in the company of others. Whether it was a backyard barbecue, a family gathering, simply catching up with friends, or watching his favorite Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton, he was happiest when surrounded by those he cared about.

Those left to honor his memory include his daughter Brianna (Volodymyr Pielikh) Peeples of Los Angeles; sons Cody (Jenny) Peeples of North Aurora, IL, Justin Peeples of Chicago; siblings Willard Peeples of Coralville, IA, Lillian “Tina” Peeples of Silvis, Horace Peeples of Davenport, Ann Burrage-Davis of Davenport, Mark (Denise) Burrage of Chicago, Carol (Ian) Jambura Bull of Portland, OR; numerous extended family members including nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, dear friends, and the staff at Harmony.

He was preceded in death by his son Nicholas Peeples, parents, and siblings, Ronald Thomas, Jean Johnson, Robert Peeples, and Rosetta LeBeau.
