Gary Misner

Gary Misner, 45, of Davenport, passed away July 17, 2023 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics after a three week battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023 at 10:00am at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 3:00-6:00pm at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital.

Gary was born on July 8, 1978 in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of Gary and Debbie (Rodebusch) Misner. 

Gary enjoyed fishing and was a master of the grill.  If he was cooking, you better be hungry.  He had the ability to light up the room with his smile when he walked in.  He could always lift your spirits if he was around.  He was the kind of man that knew someone wherever he went and made everyone feel like family. Gary had the gift of gab and was known for his stories. Above all else his family was the most important.  He loved his children with all of his heart and was the best uncle a kid could ask for.  His daughter, Emalynn, was like his shadow and was always close behind.  He had a special relationship with his son, Christian, and was able to bring him out of his shell.  He will be deeply missed.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Amanda; children Christian and Emalynn; mother Debbie Misner; siblings Pam (Shane) Schroeder, Paula Bahena and Nick (Alexis) Rasso; nieces and nephews Christian Schroeder, Deanna Bahena, Alberto Bahena, Jr., Jesus Bahena, Liam Rasso and Isabella Rasso; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, Eugene and Janice and Phillip and Daltha Misner, cousin Mitch Dalton, two canine companions Louie and Wrigley and many other beloved friends and family.
