Garry Bogguess, Sr.

Garry Darnell Bogguess, Sr., passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026 peacefully at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, Monday, March 30, 2026 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 11:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.

Garry was born on December 1, 1960 in Rock Island, Illinois, son of Donald and Ethel (Holland) Bogguess. He was united in marriage to Joyce Millbrook on February 14, 2003. She preceded him in death in November 2022.

Garry enjoyed being outdoors doing yardwork. He was an amazing cook and was the kind of person to take care of everyone. He was a jokester and a story teller keeping you on the phone at times for hours. Garry was a hard working man and an entrepreneur. In his younger years he had a restaurant and a candy store. He also worked at John Deere for over 7 years. Above all he loved his family and cherished the time spent with them. He will be deeply missed.

Those left to honor his memory include his children Garry Bogguess, Jr., Juante Miller, Iziah Bogguess, Alexus Bogguess, Garry Bogguess, Laquirsa Douglas, Jahmya Bogguess, Keana Millbrook, TaCorie Govain and Brandon Jackson; 18 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; special nieces Deshawna Bogguess and Dozjanea Bogguess; special nephew Corry Bogguess McBride; and many special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Joyce, sister Vickie Bogguess, aunt Betty Douglas, nephew Terrence Foulks and niece Deandrea McBride.
