Frank R. “Buddy” Bennett, 64, of Davenport, died Tuesday, August 18, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
A time to gather and celebrate Buddy’s life will be held Sunday from 2 until 4 p.m. at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Please wear NASCAR attire to honor Buddy. Private burial will take place in Fairmount Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to the family.
Frank Ralph Bennett was born on January 7, 1962, in Iowa City, Iowa, a son of Betty L. (Phelps) and Lester R. Bennett. He worked for many years for Nichols Aluminum, Tri City Fabricating and later Solar Plastic.
Buddy loved to spend time with family, especially his grandson, Bryson and always looked forward to family gatherings. He also enjoyed fishing and watching NASCAR, especially the #24 car when Jeff Gordon was racing and later the #9 car, driven by Chase Elliott.
Those left to honor his memory are his children: Alan (Bethany) Bennett, Davenport, Tiffany (Dustin) Trump, Oklahoma, Mississippi, and Brian (Ray) Haessler, Mineral, Illinois; eight grandchildren; siblings: Debbie Bennett, and Teddy Bennett, both of Davenport, and his girlfriend, Kathy Crotts, Davenport as well as many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Richard Hartley, siblings: Jerry Bennett and Vickie Bennett, a stepbrother, John Bennett, a brother-in-law, Pete Fretto, a nephew, Mike Dumerauf and a dear friend, Rev. Clark Stewart. May they rest in peace.
