Frances Lamin

Frances Zainabu Lamin, 48, of Davenport, died Monday, December 6, 2021 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oakdale Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. prior to services.

Frances was born May 30, 1973 in Lungi-Town, Sierra Leone, Africa, the daughter of Tejan  and Cecilia Salematu (Sandy) Mwita. Frances worked as a registered nurse at a crisis center in Texas.

Frances enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, traveling, and taking care of people.

Those left to honor her memory include her son, Alexander (Jasmine) Lamin-Carr of Davenport; grandchildren, Jaydin, Ameira, and AJ; mother, Cecilia Mwita of Davenport; partner, Mitch Annan of Wyoming, Michigan; siblings, Priscilla Lamin of Houston, Texas, Fibian Berkeley of Hutto, Texas, Christina Mwita and Joseph Mwita, both of Davenport.

She was preceded in death by her father Tejan Lamin.
