Evelyn G. Werthmann, 90, of Davenport, died Monday, September 30, 2024 at Genesis East, Davenport. 

A Memorial Mass for Evelyn will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2024 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Courageous or Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. 

Evelyn was born on June 22, 1934 in Thompson, Illinois, a daughter of Raymond and Nellie Pearl (Hicks) Stotlar. She graduated from Bettendorf High School in 1953. Evelyn was united in marriage to Richard Werthmann, Jr. on June 26, 1954 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They have shared over 70 years of marriage and memories together. 

Evelyn worked for many years as a surgical scheduling coordinator at Genesis East and when her children were younger at the Masonic Home. The Werthmann’s were longtime members of St. Mary’s, Davenport and St. John Vianney in Bettendorf. Evelyn loved to play cards, especially with a women’s group at SJV. She was also an active member of the Women of the Moose.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Richard, Davenport; children: Roger (Maura) Werthmann, Clinton, Tennessee, Robert (Taralynne) Werthmann, West Branch, Iowa, Susan (Robert) Finin, Davenport, Raymond (Karen) Werthmann, Hatboro, Pennsylvania and Paul Werthmann, Jacksonville, Florida; thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Christine Werthmann, her parents, and siblings: Kenneth Stotlar, Robert Stotlar, Mary Kopp, Melva Hicks, Richard Hicks, Billy Stotlar, and Red Garvin. May they rest in peace.
