Edward E. "Eddie" or "Pops" Boyert

Edward Eugene “Eddie” or “Pops” Boyert Sr, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at his home. Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of his life will be held at 1pm on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Bethel AME Church, Davenport.

Eddie was born March 24, 1948, in Davenport.

He was a hard worker and prior to his retirement, had worked in maintenance for Oscar Mayer for 12 years before becoming a truck driver for JB Hunt for 15 years.

Eddie enjoyed watching football, bowling and getting ice cream with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughter Makayla Berry of Bettendorf; sons Edward Boyert Jr of Des Moines and Clayton Summage of Davenport; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and sisters Alberta Crump of Davenport, Constance Overton of Davenport, Linda Offutt of Bettendorf, and Jennie Watson-Warfield of Davenport.

He was preceded in death by his sisters Almira Barnes and Almeda Dickerson and brother Daniel “Zeb” Collins.
