Donnie Guldenpfennig

Donnie Isabelle Guldenpfennig, 78, passed away, Monday, December 6, 2021 at Aspire of Donnellson, Donnellson, Iowa.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery Buffalo.  Memorials may be made to family to establish a memorial at a later date.

Donnie was born on August 28, 1943 in Sanger, California, daughter of Henry and Gladys (Freeman) Jones.  She was united in marriage to Gene Guldenpfennig on July 1, 1961. Together they had two children, Bryon and Lisa. They enjoyed a life in Buffalo, Iowa.   He preceded her in death on June 17, 1997.

Donnie retired from Brammer Manufacturing after many years of service.  She was a skilled archer and a member of the Davenport Valley Archers.  She had earned the title of State Champion.  She also enjoyed fishing with her husband.  Above all, she cherished her family and the time she spent with them.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Lisa (Donald) Hulsing; daughter-in-law, Jackie Guldenpfennig; grandchildren, Steven (Erin) Hulsing, Ashley (Chris) Neumiller, Breann (Adam) Mace, Casey (Joe) Smith, Danielle (Marty) Braun, Laura (Zach) DeForest, and Michael (Ahrin) Hulsing; 19 great-grandchildren; a sister Bonnie Sawvell; sisters-in-law Bernice Guldenpfennig and Alice Guldenpfennig; and brother-in-law Jimmie Guldenpfennig.

In addition to her husband, Gene, she was preceded in death by her son, Bryon; great-granddaughter Raylynn DeForest, her special companion, Ernest “Butch” Seibel, her sisters Connie Grisham, Beulah Hitchcock, Jackie Kinkaid, Pauline Kunze, and her brothers Ronnie Jones and Raymond “Bub” Kunze.
