Donna J. Youngs, 74, of Davenport, died Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport surrounded by her family.
A celebration of Donna’s life will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025 at the Buffalo Community Center, 426 Clark Street, Buffalo, Iowa from 3 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Iowa Hope Lodge, Iowa City, which provides free lodging for cancer patients and their families. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Donna Jean Borcher was born on August 11, 1950 in Davenport, a daughter of Walter and Claire “Tootie” Borcher. Donna worked at the Rock Island Arsenal when her children were young and had various other jobs, however, her favorite was as a homemaker and mother to her sons.
She had been a member of Adventure Christian Church, Davenport.
Donna cherished her family and spent a lot of time at baseball diamonds across the Quad Cities supporting her sons, as well not missing a opportunity to support her grandchildren. She had a great love of quilting and sewing, and enjoyed bingo, gardening, and canning.
Those left to honor her memory are her sons: Dave (Kami) Schurke, Buffalo, Derek “Turtle” (Jennifer) Schurke, Davenport, and Brad Youngs; grandchildren: Haley, Tanner, Dakota, Dillon, Paige (Bre), Payton, Adam, Paxton, Derek Lee (Kaizlee); great-grandchildren: Nyla, Myah, Remi, Derik, Elliot, Rayden, Emery, Addy, Amir, and Eleanor; siblings: Rita (Gene Cornish) McCormick, Seffner, Florida, Tina (Sam) Goodall, Silver Spring, Maryland, and Jesse (Catherine) Borcher, Davenport; many nieces and nephews, and a very special cousin, Nancy Knapper.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Kenny Borcher.
