Don Rodgers, 81, of Davenport, passed away Friday, February 6, 2026, at The Ivy of Davenport. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Graveside services with military honors will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to Kings Harvest Animal Shelter.
Don James Rodgers was born March 7, 1944, in Biloxi, MS, to James Winfield and Eva Judith (Nelson) Rodgers. He was united in marriage to Ida Mae Dunn in 1969 and she preceded him in death in 2023.
He was an army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Prior to his retirement he had been a lineman for the former Northwestern Bell and US West phone companies.
Don loved the outdoors and found pleasure in the activities of fishing, camping, golfing, and playing softball in his younger years. He also enjoyed watching sports, bowling, auctions, and going to church at Bethel Assembly of God in Rock Island as well as First Baptist Church in LeClaire in his younger years..
Survivors include his daughters Pam (Roland) Formholtz of Davenport and Chris (Daniel) Shaw of Blue Grass; grandchildren Taylor (Mitch) Garrett and Jonathan Shaw; great grandson Beau Garrett; and brothers Tom (Janice) Rodgers of LeClaire and Mike Rodgers of Davenport.
Additionally, he was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Kathy Rodgers, Karen Salisbury, and brothers Gary, Steven, Alan, and Timothy Rodgers.
