Diane Slawson, 73, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 19, 2026, at her home in the comfort of familiar surroundings. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and a private family service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family in her honor.

Diane was born on January 30, 1952, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Robert Slawson and Bertha Jones. Throughout her life, Diane was known for as a loving mother and grandmother.

She found love and companionship with Richard Esquivel, with whom she shared many cherished years until his passing. In her younger years, Diane enjoyed dancing and spending time outdoors, especially alongside Richard, making memories that would last a lifetime.

Family meant everything to Diane. She adored her grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them. After her retirement, she found joy in playing slot machines and staying connected through her computer, which kept her entertained and engaged.

Those left to honor and remember her include her children, Torry (Tricia) Slawson, Luis (Natasha) Esquivel; her stepchildren, Ricky (Jessica) Esquivel, and Lisa (Willie Dye) Thompson; her beloved grandchildren, Torry (Maggie) Slawson, Tevin Slawson, Brittney (Blaine) Mayer, Brandon (Cassie) Lorenz, Kadin Esquivel, Kiya Esquivel, Sean Thompson, Dorian Potter, Destiny (Alex) Wilford; and her siblings, Debbie (Tim) Trout and Robbie (Beth) Slawson. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, who will miss her dearly.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, her partner Richard Esquivel, and her brother, Donnie Slawson.
