Funeral services celebrating the life of Dennis W. Cole, 63, of Davenport, will be held at Noon on Friday, December 26, 2025, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be from 10am until time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.

Mr. Cole passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025, surrounded by family at the home of his daughter Gladys following a brief and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Dennis Wayne Cole was born July 17, 1962, in Davenport, to Willie and Gladys (Bolsinger) Cole Sr. He was united in marriage to Sherry Morgan on October 7, 1993, in Davenport.

In his younger years, Dennis found great joy in the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, pursuits that reflected his patience, appreciation for nature, and love of simpler moments. A devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his team and especially enjoyed watching football alongside friends.

Family was the heart of Dennis’s life. He treasured Sunday dinners and holiday gatherings, where food, conversation, and togetherness created lasting memories. Time spent with family and friends was what he valued most, and he will be remembered for the way he brought people together and made everyone feel welcome.

Survivors include his wife Sherry; children Wayne Cole of Davenport, Ashley (Brad Schmidt) Cole of Bettendorf, Courtney (Chris) McClanahan of Davenport, Gladys (Scot McClanahan) Cole of Bettendorf, Pete Cole of Davenport; grandchildren Aleigha, Lilianah, Christopher Jr, Amiyah, Ryleigh, Brynlee; siblings Charlotte Crockett, Patricia Coblentz, Lavern Cole, Doug Cole, Mike Cole, Susan McConnell, and Joyce Burmeister.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Verla Jackson, Jerry Cole, Mary Baney, and Willie Cole Jr.
