Denise D. O’Toole, 61, a resident of Davenport, died unexpectedly Friday, December 8, 2017 in Davenport. There will be a Memorial Gathering to Celebrate her life Friday, December 15, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, downtown Davenport. Following her wishes, the rite of cremation has been accorded.

Denise Dawn Paustian was born April 16, 1956 in Davenport, a daughter of Vernon Raymond and Frances May (Price) Paustian.

Denise was a 1974 graduate of Durant High School. She had worked in sales for LeBeda Mattress and Home Depot.

Denise married Gary Smith June 15, 1974. She later married Kerry J. O’Toole June 13, 2003. They shared nearly 20-years together. Kerry preceded her in death on December 6, 2017. They are together and Denise is at peace with Kerry.

Denise enjoyed spending time with her family. She truly loved taking long rides on their Harley and viewing the beautiful landscape go by.

Memorials can be made to the family.

Those left to honor her memory include children; Jay (Megan) Smith, Davenport, Janelle Smith, Des Moines; stepdaughter, Kally (Jake) Sachleben, Davenport; mother, Frances Paustian, Durant; siblings, Diana (Mark) Henry, Washington, Linda (Dale) Dahlin, Davenport, Janice (Tom) Keller, Muscatine, Joyce Holtz, Durant, Charles (Janet) Paustian, Durant and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon, her husband, Kerry and brother-in-law, Gary. May they rest in peace.
