Dean L. Krueger, 71, of Davenport, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, with his devoted wife by his side.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church – Vianney Campus in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will be private.

Dean was born in 1954 to Floyd and Agnes Krueger. He graduated from Alwood High School and later attended DeVry University in Chicago. A gifted and dedicated systems engineer, Dean worked for IBM for 37 years.

Dean married Kim McCool in 1989. Together, they shared 36 years of deep devotion, steadfast love, and a life built side by side.

A member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Dean possessed a profound appreciation for nature. He devoted years of patient work and loving care to cultivating a beautiful natural prairie at his home—a place where plants, birds, and wildlife could flourish. The prairie he nurtured will remain a lasting reflection of his quiet strength, tenderness, and respect for God’s creation.

Dean was dependable and unfailingly generous with his time. Whenever a friend called or someone needed a helping hand, he was among the first to show up. Though strong and reserved, he also possessed a deeply tender heart. His love for Kim and his family was steadfast and unshakable.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Kim McCool; his children Benjamin and his wife, Cambria, and Carolyn; Sarah and her husband, Jay; seven cherished grandchildren; his siblings, John and his wife, Linda, and Marg and her husband, Gary.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Bill, Jim, Earl, Richard, and Jerry; and his sisters, Janet and Shirley.
