David Victor Graciano Zamora (49), of Davenport, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2026.
A visitation for David will be held Tuesday, August 25, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made directly to his wife, Ashley, or to the Tad Agnew Foundation, which was very special to David.
David was born in Bettendorf on July 13, 1977, to Daniel Zamora and Norma (Ramirez) Zamora. He attended Bettendorf High School, graduating in 1996. Always the carefree and charismatic charmer, David was well known for being the life of the party. Professionally, David spent time working and making lifelong friends at McGlaughlin, KONE, and, lastly, Arconic.
“Cowboy Dave” was notorious for his dancing skills, bar races, and, above all else, his generous and giving heart. David always made sure the people he cared about and loved had what they needed and wanted, often putting them before himself. David had a smile that lit up any room and the most unforgettable, infectious laugh that would ease anyone’s mood. David was a joy to be around, but those who knew him knew you had to protect your ears from nibbles!
A fan of the Chicago Bears, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Chicago Cubs, David enjoyed attending and celebrating his teams, often accompanied by a cold one (or two). Throughout his life, everyone thought he would remain a bachelor until he met the love of his life, Ashley, in 2014. David and Ashley (Doy) were united in marriage on October 15, 2022, in West Branch.
In addition to supporting his favorite teams and sampling beer, David’s favorite activities included spending time with his cherished friends and family, golfing, playing video games, and flexing for all to witness. David took pride in his Jeep, eating his “Little Chef’s” culinary creations, and loving his two fur babies, Bodhi and Lola. David was adventurous, traveling to new and distant places and making friends everywhere he went. Some of his favorite destinations included Punta Cana, Mexico, and the U.P. David was never scared to step out of his comfort zone on his travels, especially to make his trips with Ashley as memorable as possible.
Those left to honor his memory include his beloved wife, Ashley; his father, Daniel Zamora (Rose); his mother, Norma (Ramirez) Zamora; his brothers, Thomas (Wendi) Zamora, Robert (Jessica) Zamora, and Michel (Heather) Zamora; nieces and nephews Marissa, Alaina, Robert Jr., Gloria, Christian, Vance, and Isiah; great-niece and great-nephew Mila and Grayson; and many more unnamed aunts, uncles, cousins, and loving friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; several aunts and uncles, including his treasured Aunt Jovita “Jo” Zamora, uncles Terry “Bean” Ramirez and Ralph Ramirez; and his faithful companion, Brutus.
