David DeWayne Holeman

David DeWayne Holeman, 61, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025, at Clarissa Cook Hospice House. He was surrounded by his loving family during his final days. A visitation will be held on August 13, 2025 from 9:00 - 11:00. A prayer service will be immediately following at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport.  Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport.

David was born on November 3, 1963, to Max and Monica Holeman, the second of their ten children. David was known as a talented welder where he grew that skill set after 38 years of employment with Sears Seating. David was known for his uniquely infectious laugh, his willingness to help others, and his adventurous spirit. He enjoyed traveling, motorcycling with work friends, participating in RAGBRAI, going to concerts, and enjoying snow skiing. He had a genuine love for the countryside and made countless memories exploring the great outdoors.

David is survived by his mother, Monica Holeman; his brothers and sisters, John (Bindu) Holeman, Randy (Donna) Holeman, Joseph (Kelly) Holeman, Jerry (Cindy) Holeman, Teresa (Sam) Crowder, Lisa (Derek) Frantz, Laurie (Dan) Ostrander, Mike Holeman, and Matt (Kara) Holeman; a host of nieces and nephews; his special friend, Shela Lynch, her daughter Lily Lassen, and Lily’s three children, Isaiah, Mila, and Naomi Moore, whom were like grandchildren to him.

David is preceded in death by his father, Max Holeman. His memory will forever remain alive in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to share in his journey.
