David Hass

David Hass, 78, of Davenport, passed away Monday, May 12, 2025 at MercyOne Medical Center.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

David was born on December 6, 1946, son of Wilbur Hass and Velda Hill. He was united in marriage to Janis Lyons in September of 1973. She preceded him in death.

David was a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed by M.A. Ford for 44 years. In his free time he liked to go fishing, attend his grandchildrens' extra-curricular activities, and just be with his family being silly or helping out when he could.

Those left to honor his memory include his children Megan (Josh) Smyser and Brandon (Catherine) Hass; grandchildren Madison, Cooper, Tucker and Carter Smyser, and Anna Hass; sisters-in-law Debbie Jackson and Kim Trent; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Nancy Hass, wife Janis, brother Michael (Sharon) Hass and step-brother Doug Twigg.
