Mr. Harrington passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at MercyOne Genesis, Davenport.

David was born September 13, 1966, in Chicago, the son of Ann Kessel-Sirdoreus and was adopted by Joan Aicher. He graduated from Davenport Central class of 1986. While at Central he was class vice-president and participated in swimming, track, cross country, and was a thespian.

He was united in marriage to Erin Harrington on November 8, 2003, in Las Vegas.

David was a train engineer for Canadian Pacific Kansas City.

He had a lifelong passion for anything on wheels. NASCAR racing (especially Kyle Larson), slot cars, Hot Wheels, or demo derbies, his enthusiasm for all things on wheels was unmistakable. He also loved going to auctions.

The Fourth of July held a special place in his heart. Fireworks, family gatherings, and the spirit of celebration made it his favorite time of year. He was a natural planner and enjoyed working out every detail of events, and vacations, especially Walt Disney World.

David was the kind of person who left a lasting impression, to know him was to love him. His warmth, humor, unmistakable personality and love for bacon made him unforgettable. He always made you wonder what have you gotten us into now.

Survivors include his wife Erin; son John Harrington of Buffalo; mother Ann Sirdoreus of Fairfield, IA, mother- and father-in-law William and Sharon Harrington of Blue Grass, brother in law- and sister in law Thomas and Yvette Harrington, brother in law and sister in law Bill and Lisa Harrington; niece Abby Harrington; and nephew Josh (Stephanie) Harrington.

He was preceded in death by his adoptive mother Joan Aicher.
