Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for David F. Coffman, 91, of Davenport, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services at the church. Cremation has been accorded and inurnment will be held privately at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church or First Tee – Quad Cities.
Mr. Coffman passed away Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Davenport Lutheran Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.
David Franklin Coffman was born February 11, 1935, in South English, IA, to Evert George and Beulah Corell (Shelly) Coffman. He was united in marriage to Margaret Sondag on June 22, 1955, in Keota, IA.
Prior to his retirement, David dedicated over 40 years of his life to the grocery business including owning his own, Dave’s Supervalue, in Walnut, IL, for 14 years.
He was an avid golfer and once proudly scored a hole-in-one. When not on the golf course he enjoyed watching sports and was a die-hard fan of the Hawkeyes, Cubs, and Bears.
In addition to Holy Family Catholic Church, he was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and Rotary Club.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; children Philip Coffman of Cedar Rapids, Patricia (Jeffrey) Johnston of Fairfield, IA, Gregory (Denise) Coffman of Davenport; grandchildren Justin (Dorrie) Coffman, Heather Coffman, Kelsey (Lisa) McCarston, Amanda (Justin) Junkel, Brian (Ranaee) Coffman, Rebecca (Gary) Ichkowsky; and seventeen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Marie Coffman and Doris Evans, brothers Donald and Leland Coffman, and daughter in law Nancy Coffman. May they rest in peace.
