David Bruce Berg, 79, of Blue Grass, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.

David was born on February 3, 1947, in Moline, Illinois, the son of Norman R. Berg II and Betty J. (Hall) Berg. He graduated from Rock Island High School with the class of 1965. On March 23, 1968, he was united in marriage to Candace S. Lindemann at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Davenport. Together, they built a beautiful life and shared 58 years of marriage.

David spent 20 years serving as a warehouse and stockroom manager at JCPenney, and later brought his expertise to DECO Tool Supply.

David had a passion for the outdoors and sports. He loved fishing, hunting, and golfing. He cheered passionately for the Green Bay Packers and the St. Louis Cardinals, and he always treasured the excitement of attending live NASCAR races. Above all, his greatest joy was his family.

Those left to honor his memory include his beloved wife, Candace; his sons and daughters-in-law, David E. (Wendy) Berg and Matthew B. (Cindy) Berg; his grandchildren, Cody (Caitlin) Berg, Tanner Berg, and Kirsten Berg; and his great-grandchildren, Charlene and Calvin. He is also survived by his siblings, Kristine, Kevin, and Martin; and sisters-in-law, Kathy (Wayne), Sue, and Julie.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Betty; his siblings, Stephen, Diane, and Robbie; his granddaughter, Sydney; and his brothers-in-law, Ronnie and Larry Lindemann.

A private family gathering was held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport, with burial services following at Davenport Memorial Park.
