It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend and siblings.

Danny Burton, Sr., 64, of Davenport, passed away, Thursday, October 22, 2026 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, November 6, 2026 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 12:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Blue Grass Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.

Our dad was the strongest man we have ever known. He wasn’t just our dad; he was our Superman. He was the man we could look up to, the one who could fix just about anything, and someone who left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He loved spending time with his family, and those moments together meant so much to him. Whether he was surrounded by the people he loved or doing what he enjoyed most, working on cars and collecting antiques. He was happiest being himself. He had a special way of getting along with just about anybody, and his personality made him someone people were drawn to.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Theresa Burton, and his children, Danny, Marisa & Angel Sr., Lucas, and Jessica, who will forever carry his love and memories in their hearts.

He was a proud grandfather to Isaiah, Sofi, Angel Jr, Asher, Moises, Matias, Elizabeth, Xzayvier, and Danny Jr., along with the many other grandchildren who lovingly called him Grandpa. His love reached beyond names and titles, making everyone who came into his life feel like family.

Danny was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Virginia M. Burton and Melvin York; his great-aunt, Helen Sweeney; Donald McCoy; David Burton Sr.; and Darwin Burton Sr., as well as his father and mother in law Lorenzo S Rodriguez and Mercades A Rodriguez.

He also leaves behind his beloved siblings, Denise Burton, Doreen Burton, DaVonna Cox, and Dale Burton, along with extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Our dad was our protector, our strength, and our Superman. No words can truly express how much he meant to us or how deeply he will be missed. The world may have lost a great man, but we will forever have the memories, lessons, laughter, and love he left behind.

Although we can no longer see him, he will always live on in our hearts. His hands may no longer be here to fix things, but the love he built into our family will never be broken.

Rest peacefully, Dad. You will forever be our Superman. We love you always, and we will carry you with us for the rest of our lives.
