Cynthia Louise Musal was born on June 25, 1949, in Davenport, the daughter of George H. and Anna L. (Michl) Musal. She spent her working years at Karwath Insurance, Wenger Truck Line, and retired from the Isle of Capri. Cindy was known for her no-nonsense demeanor, quick wit, and her quiet but unmistakable presence.
Cindy lived a simple life, finding joy in small, everyday comforts. She never missed a weather report and loved being the one to call and warn her family when a storm was on the way. A cold Pepsi in hand, Mass playing on the TV, and QVC in the background—those were the rhythms of her days. She loved a good deal, a clean house, and her personal space.
Though she was private and independent, her love for her grandchildren was deep and unwavering. She lit up in their presence and followed their lives with quiet pride. She may not have always said much, but she paid attention—every milestone, every detail.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons: Mike (Kateri) Morris of Bettendorf, John Morris of Walworth, Wisconsin, and Chris (Ashley) Boysen of DeWitt; grandchildren: Andrew (Laurel), Madeline (Robert), Grace, Beau, and Cassidy; and her great-grandson, Nash. She is also survived by her siblings: Suzie Seymour of Bettendorf, Doris (Gary) Cox of Pleasant Valley, Vicki Davis of Bettendorf, and Joseph (Debra) Musal of LeClaire, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Ripp; her parents; and siblings: Charlotte Wright, Sara Mahoney, and John and George Musal.
Though Cindy didn’t ask for attention, her presence in our lives was lasting. Her quiet strength and steady love will be remembered always.
May she rest in peace.
