Charlie was born on April 10, 1944, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Charles and Elsie (Creighton) Roenfeldt. He was united in marriage to Charlene Moore on January 27, 1968, at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Davenport. He worked at the Rock Island Arsenal as a machinist and retired in 1995 after 34 years. He enjoyed cooking and baking. He started selling his baked bread at the farmers' market, and soon after, Charlie and Charlene became owners of the Bread Man Bakery in Blue Grass.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed boating on the Mississippi with his family. He was a busy man of many talents. He was a gifted accordion/piano player. He performed at concerts from a young age until his later years. Charlie was a devoted antique car collector, especially fond of his ’67 Red Ford. He entered his beloved cars in car shows, often bringing home trophies. His fondest memories were the cruises and traveling he and Charlene experienced, both nationally and internationally. Of all his hobbies, he enjoyed being a family man the most. He loved the company of his children, but most of all, his grandchildren.
Charlie was a 50-year member of the Fraternal Trinity Lodge No. 208, a past Monarch at Mohassan Grotto, and an active member at Kaaba Shriners.
