Chad Michael Burke passed away on December 21, 2025, peacefully in his sleep at his home in Davenport, Iowa.
Funeral services to celebrate Chad’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Visitation will take place from 12 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to establish a memorial at a later date.
Chad was born November 9th, 1978, to Mike and Becky Burke. He graduated from Bettendorf High School in 1997, where he was a standout left guard on the varsity football team. Chad was a gifted woodworker and all-around handyman. He helped found multiple business with friends and family including Superior Services where he was most recently employed.
He was exceptionally smart and his knowledge of many subjects was nothing short of impressive. Chad had a great ear and love for music of all genres, his favorite band being the Red Hot Chili Peppers. He was an avid sports fan and spent his Saturdays cheering on the Hawkeyes. Chad’s greatest joy was his son Leighton.
Chad married Kelly Collins (Rouse) in 2002. They remained great friends throughout his life.
Those who knew Chad would best describe him as a big teddy bear with a dry sense of humor despite his imposing figure and grumpy expression as well as a hard worker and a bit of a perfectionist.
He is survived by his son Leighton Burke (Ashley Graham), Montgomery, Illinois; former wife and dear friends, Kelly and Brent Rouse, Bettendorf, Iowa; his dad, Mike (Amie) Burke, Gilbert, Arizona; his brothers, TJ (Ann) Burke, Kenmore, Washington, David (Mary) Burke, Durango, Colorado, and Michael Burke, Venice, California; his nieces and nephews: Everrett, Callum, Ottilie, and Maxine; as well as Chad’s many aunts, uncles, and cousins will also continue to honor his memory.
Chad was preceded in death by his mom, Becky Burke. We are comforted by the fact that they are together again.
