Cathy Marley

Cathy Marley, 63, a resident of Bettendorf, died Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2021 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to mass at church. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be determined at a later date. Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport is assisting the family with arrangements.

Cathy was born February 13, 1958 in Davenport, the daughter of Charles and Patricia (McWilliams) Rubley. She married James Marley, September 12, 1997 in Moline.

Cathy worked as an LPN and also worked as an associate for VonMaur for over 15 years. She enjoyed cooking, was an expert decorator, loved history, long talks with her sisters, Mexican food and westerns. She cherished her time with her family and loved her dog, Brinley.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Jim; children, Tim Gries of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Dan (Elodie) Gries of Wheaton, Illinois, Nick (Candice) Gries of Ankeny, and David (Kendra) Marley of Ft. Bragg, North Carolina; grandchildren, Hannah, Lauren, Audrey, Colt, Carter, and Gihanna; siblings, Chris (Lynn) Rubley of Blue Grass, Karen (Nick) Rizzo of Palatine, Illinois, Kurt (Diane) Rubley of Cedar Rapids, and Peggy (Wayne) Shipley of Ankeny, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
