Carol Anne Maller Ingle AKA Raven

October 28, 1953 - September 24, 2025

Our mother was very smart and lived a uniquely inspiring life, as we all knew. She graduated from Scott Community College with associates, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees in business, wildlife management, and conservation science. She conducted water sampling for the counties of Scott, Henry, and Rock Island. She contributed to the cleanup at Nahant Marsh in Davenport, Iowa, and was an active member of the American Indian Movement (A.I.M.) and the Quad City Coalition of Native Americans. A champion women’s buckskin dress dancer, she cherished participating in powwows, storytelling at Pioneer Village, attending Greek festivals (reflecting her gypsy heritage), and exploring through hiking, caving, and traveling across the USA. She loved rocks, crystals, and fossils. Additionally, she served as an ordained Pagan Minister in the Quad Cities.

Mother taught us as young children to never judge another person, regardless of their situation or differences, because we have no idea what they’ve endured in life. “One day that could be you,” she said. She believed we are all born with a manual—lacking direction, hints, proof, or a prescribed way to live our lives. This manual is blank with many pages, and we must forge our own paths and streets. Mom always made everything work, no matter the challenges we faced. With minimal resources, she created abundance, saying, “You don’t have to be the richest person to have the nicest things in life.” She also instilled in us the values of always being kind, helping those with less, and giving love and peace, promising that good deeds would return tenfold. She taught that life happens for a reason—people enter our lives, and events occur with purpose. Always believe in yourself, she advised, smile to brighten someone’s day, and remain grateful for what you desire, never taking it for granted.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elden Edward Essex Ingle; sister-in-law Patricia; mother and father-in-law Bettey and Elder Ingle; parents Joyce and Robert Maller; brothers Steve Maller and David Maller; niece Theresa Ingle; and nephew Joshua Green.

She is survived by her brother, John Maller and sister-in-law Lisa Maller, Davenport, Iowa; and her children:

•     Daughter Pamela Pyles, Davenport, Iowa, with 5 children, 20 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren;

•     Daughter Kimberly Anne Ingle, Davenport, Iowa, with 2 children, Tora Rose Mendoza-Ingle and Keegan Awwhi Ingle-Wells;

•     Daughter Sarah Marie Ingle, Clinton, Iowa, with 2 children, Laquion Williams and Eathon Riedel.

Momma, just one last note from your children: We love you and miss you dearly. We know you are at peace with our dad, your true love. Please watch over us, and if we get out of hand, please show us you are still there.

Memorials can be made out to American Indian Movement, (AIM), in care of Kim Ingle 1101 1/2 Apt. 9, East Moline, IL 61244. A celebration of life and burial will take place at a later time.
