Carlos R. Vargas

Carlos Vargas, 94, of Davenport, passed away, Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Bettendorf Health Care. 

Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded.

Carlos was born on November 4, 1928 in Chile, son of Rigoberto and Sara Del Carmen Vargas.  He was united in marriage to Dora Maldonado on March 26, 1973.

Carlos grew up in Chile and later studied in Rome, Spain and the Vatican becoming a priest.  He became a US Citizen in 1976/1977 and preached in Texas before coming to Davenport. He was very handy and after his retirement he was always busy tinkering in his garage.  He loved classical music, Elvis, and animals, especially his cats.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, children, Angel (Amy) Vargas, Marco (Marisa) Vargas, and Sara (Kevin) Seiler, grandchildren, Anthony, Dominic, Kaleb, Lex, Lincoln, Natalia, Annaliese, Rebeka, Caralynn, Havilah, Amelia and Wilhem; and sister Nora.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Alfredo and Rhina.
