Brian Dean Thompson, 52, a resident of Davenport, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, January 17, 2018 after experiencing a sudden medical event. He died at Genesis Medical Center. He made the Gift of Life as an organ donor.

Services to celebrate his life will be 3:00 pm Sunday, January 21, 2018 in the All Faith Chapel at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, downtown Davenport. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. Following his wishes the rite of cremation will take place prior to services. The family will greet friends from 1:00 pm Sunday until 4:00 pm.

Brian was born December 10, 1965, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa a son of, Jack Dean and Shirley Joan (Smith) Thompson. He graduated from Cedar Rapids Washington High School and attended Kirkwood Community College; earning an Associate of Applied Science.

He was united in marriage to Annette M. Delaughter in 1991. He currently made his home with Megan McClung.

He was proud to have served his country in the Navy aboard the USS Kitty Hawk, 1984-1988.

Brian or Dean as some of his friends called him has been employed by Iowa-American Water Company since 1991.

He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and could fix anything. His greatest joy in life were his daughters; he missed them in his daily life.

Memorials can be made to the family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his two daughters, Hannah (Chris) Waddell and Raquel Thompson, both of Arkansas; his best gal, Megan McClung, and her children, Kayla, Kelsey and Garner; and a brother, Randy Thompson, Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Kelly, and a sister in infancy.
