Born on August 20, 1956, in Lynwood, California, to Robert and Ruthie Armstrong, Bobbi's life was defined by her unwavering kindness and an impressive ability to make those around her feel welcome and cherished. For 23 years, Bobbi dedicated her career as a dispatch officer for the McDonough County and Rock Island County Sheriff's Department, showcasing her commitment to public service. She also worked for many years at Alys Beach in Florida where she grew an extended family of friends, who also cherished her.

Bobbi was more than just a professional; she was a vibrant spirit and a loving family member whose first love, after her family, was the ocean, with memories of sand and sun that filled her heart. She relished spending time with her children and grandchildren, who brought her immense joy, and served as a nurturing role model, consistently demonstrating warmth and understanding.

Bobbi leaves behind her beloved family, including her children, Bobby Mathena, Christine Mathena (Thurble Derrick Jr.), and Katie (Zachary Jr.) Banks; her cherished grandchildren, Jade Perea(Abigail Mcdonald), Dylan Perea, Zayden Perea, Talan Linn, Brielle Banks, Tinleigh Banks, and Jamariann Burge; and her sister, Kim (Paul "Ed") Lawson, along with Nieces and Nephews and her former spouse Lawerence “John” Simenec. She also leaves behind her pets whom she loved and cherished as well, Sherlock and Murphy.

Bobbi's spirit has gone on to join her parents, Robert and Ruthie Armstrong, and her brother, Randy Armstrong, along with her first husband Basil Mathena.
