Bob Connelly

Robert P. “Bob” Connelly, 70, of Davenport, died Thursday, July 10, 2025 at the Kahl Home, Davenport.

Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Bob will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. The Mass will be celebrated by Bob’s cousin, Msgr. Drake Shafer. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass at Holy Family on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Humility Homes and Services or Scott County Humane Society.

Robert Patrick Connelly was born on August 4, 1954 in Quebec, Canada, a son of Thomas and Ruth (Marti) Connelly. He graduated from Assumption High School in 1973 and attended Palmer Junior College as well as earned multiple certifications in plumbing, electrical, heating and air.

Bob was united in marriage to Barbara Jean Klein on November 8, 1986 at Christ the King Chapel on the campus of St. Ambrose College, Davenport. Barb preceded Bob in death on September 24, 2014. They had a great love affair and Bob missed Barb tremendously after her passing.

Bob worked in building maintenance in the QC area for many years, retiring from the Bettendorf Community School District in 2021.

Bob had a gentle, kind manner to him with a tremendous work ethic and great sense of humor. When he was a kid, he worked at the Dipsy Doodle to pay his way through Assumption High School. When Bob wasn’t working, he enjoyed his cabin on the river and water activities. He also enjoyed camping and rooting for the Seattle Seahawks, Chicago White Sox and Iowa Hawkeye football and basketball teams, especially the women’s team!

Those left to honor his memory are his sister, Sue Connelly, Davenport; special niece Audrey Roca, Omaha, Nebraska, and special friends, Tony Crowley and Gary Ewert, of Davenport.
