Beverly Ann Simms passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, at The Ivey at Davenport.
Born on November 14, 1941, in Monmouth, Illinois, to William and Ada Bush, Beverly lived a full life. She worked for several years on Arconic's production staff, sewing leather seats for tractors. She then led a career as a newspaper composer for a few years before she fully retired.
Her commitment to her profession was matched only by her vibrant personality and her love for life. Beverly was an avid reader, finding solace and adventure within the pages of countless books. She had a profound love for animals, and in her leisure time, she enjoyed playing solitaire on the computer. She was also a devoted fan of game shows, which brought her many moments of joy and laughter.
Beverly leaves behind her son Kelly Simms, daughter Karina (Michael) Kenny, grandchildren Kimberly and Michael, along with five great-grandchildren who will continue to carry forward her legacy. She is also survived by her beloved siblings, Martha Donna Blocker and James Bush.
Beverly was preceded in death by her father William, her mother Ada, her siblings Glenda and Leoana Bush, and her son James Simms.
Beverly will be remembered not only for her enduring spirit but also for her contributions to her community through her work and passions.
