Funeral Services and Mass of Christian Burial for Beverly “Bev” McCreary, 90, of Davenport will be 11 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services at the church. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the church.

Beverly died Monday September 14, 2026, at MercyOne Genesis East, Davenport. Arrangements entrusted to Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.

Beverly B. Gaudette was born on September 12, 1936, in Amery, WI, to Roy and Ann (Waldbillig) Gaudette. She was united in marriage to James F. “Mac” McCreary on April 4, 1959, in Amery. They celebrated 53 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2012.

Bev and James moved to Davenport in 1961 and were charter members of Our Lady of Victory where she also enjoyed Bible study. She began working at the former Montgomery Wards at Northpark Mall in 1974, continuing until its closure.

She enjoyed walking the mall, playing cards, and traveling with her husband. As a member of the Chord Jewels, the wives organization of the Chordbusters, she helped with makeup, costumes, and sewing quilts for children in need. A talented seamstress, she made her children’s clothing when they were young.

Survivors include her daughter Colleen (Bruce) Schwarz, Long Grove; sons Michael (Julie) McCreary, Davenport, Scott McCreary, Blue Grass; grandchildren Ashley (Mark) Abdon, Zach (Lindsey) Schwarz, Kasey (Cody) Driscoll, Molly (Joe) Tafta, Emma McCreary, Erika (Mackenzie Ruddy) McCreary, Noah McCreary, Adam (Kendra) Simpson, and Ryan (Kenzie) Simpson; great grandchildren Elijah, Aviana, Pete, Ada, Luke, Kennedy, Kinsley, Brynlee, Benny, and Juliet.

Additionally, she was preceded in death by her sister Shirley Jones, brothers LeRoy and Duane “Dewey” Gaudette, daughter-in-law Laurel McCreary, and several step-siblings.

The family extends their sincere thanks to the dedicated caregivers at Home Instead and the clinical staff at MercyOne Genesis East Medical Center for the professional care and comfort they provided.
