Betty Warren, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Genesis East Hospital on April 11, 2026.
Funeral services will be held at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home on Friday, April 24, 2026, with a wake beginning at 11:00 a.m. and services at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, with a repass afterward at the Lincoln Community Center.
Betty Lou (Reed) Warren was born on September 10, 1946, in Preston, Mississippi, to Thadis Reed and Lucille (Windham) Reed.
Betty had a strong faith and deep love for God. She gave her life to Christ at a very young age and remained devoted throughout her life. She was a faithful member of House of the Lord, where her faith continued to grow.
She was educated in the Mississippi school system.
Betty was united in marriage to Willie James Warren in Mississippi. From this union, they were blessed with six children. He preceded her in death. Betty was a devoted and loving mother to thirteen children, always putting her family first.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Betty loved playing cards, spending time with her family, and sharing meals at her favorite restaurant, Golden Corral. Her strong, unwavering love for her family was evident to all who knew her. She also had a wonderful sense of humor that kept everyone laughing at something her family will deeply miss.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Margie Warren-Lee (Ronald), James Warren, Lee Warren, Roxie Warren, all of Davenport, Iowa; Andre Warren (Christin) of Houston, Texas; Darren (Kendria) Warren; Lashawna Jones; Ladonna Jones; Betty Jones; and Tamika Farrell (Marcus) of Davenport, Iowa; her sisters: JoAnn Coleman of Sacramento, California; Louester Adams of Sacramento, California; and Bobbi Phiffer of Waterloo, Iowa; her brothers: Willie Reed of Waterloo, Iowa and David Reed of Davenport, Iowa; 53 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thadis Reed and Lucille Reed; her daughters, Lora Williams, Dorothy Jean Warren, and April Jones; her sisters, Joyce Lacy and Edna Hyde; her grandchildren, Tylan Sanders and Beanica Jordan; her great-granddaughter, E’maria Robinson-Butler; and the love of her life, Hudson Harris.
Betty will be remembered for her strength, her laughter, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched.
